Features:
Witness a once-in-a-lifetime geological wonder. Dead River is geologically called a distributary because it drains water from a river instead of into it. Hike along its length to the location of the sinkhole, where the flow goes underground in a raging current into a cliff of limestone. You are hiking through an old, mature hardwood forest where very little light hits the ground and vegetation is sparse. The stream itself cuts through limestone and winds and twists to its end. Water level variations bring entirely different views!
